KIDAPAWAN CITY, North Cotabato, Feb. 27 (PIA)—In order to promote the development of cacao farming and cocoa production in the province, the provincial government sent five cacao farmers to training at a cacao facility in Davao City.

For her part, Governor Emmylou Mendoza said that the event is another step towards the development of cacao industry in the province.
“Our cacao growers, given the right opportunity and support, will be the front liners in cacao and cocoa industry in the province in the near future,” Mendoza stated.
The governor emphasized that the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) reported last year that about 1,800 hectares of land in Arakan town will be a beneficiary of coffee and cacao farming projects.
Of the land area, DAR will implement coffee project to 1,200 hectares and cacao to 600 hectares which is seen as a significant move to further advance cacao as a high value crop in the province. (SJDuerme-PIA12/N. Cotabato Media Bureau)
